Lock It Down

With the news about an Isle of Man Company being the victim of a cyber attack, here are 5 areas that you should be looking at to help lock down your cyber security.

I have to say that I find the news about an Isle of Man Company being the victim of a cyber attack scary to see; I know that we tend to think of ourselves as shielded on our little Island but it's so important to remember that with the internet, where you are doesn't matter and everyone from the largest to the smallest companies and individuals are a target.

And that's not even thinking about everything else that's going on.

When you add all this together, now is the time to really think about locking down your network.

So below are 5 areas that I would suggest you should be thinking about, and remember this isn't just for large companies it's for everyone!

🧙‍♂️ Update your router's firmware or replace/reset it.
🧙‍♂️ Look at your IOT devices and isolate them.
🧙‍♂️ Think TT and visitors - Use Guest Networks start the switch to WPA 3..
🧙‍♂️ Patch Computers; Use Zero Trust, 2FA, and question everything internet facing
🧙‍♂️ Review anything cloud and it's security settings.
🧙‍♂️ Review your software for bundled software you don't want.
🧙‍♂️ Watch out for emails, untrusted links, QR Codes or anything odd.
